The Supreme Court has resumed sitting on Monday with the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, presiding over a five-man panel of the court.
Monday is the first working day after the last Friday’s suspension of the CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Justice Muhammad was immediately sworn in by President Buhari, in the stead of Onnoghen, on Friday.
OYE: Where is the democracy in all of this? How does the president have the power to remove a CJN & put in place another ?
Secondly, the timing is questionable, we can allege that this move is because of the election but I could be wrong.
