A Little history about my life and what I went through going to a model college, people that went to any model or federal college secondary school and were boarders can relate to this.
Here are my Top 10 memorable experience in Lagos State Civil Service Model College Igbogbo, Ikorodu. (05 Set)
Memorable – This does not mean these were good experiences, they consist of the good, the bad & the downright ugly.
So in no particular Order:
Js 1 – I was a tiny person… literally very tiny and the seniors we had then were really grown, they looked more like our Uncles and Aunties. To the event that welcomed me to rest of my life in school, I got back from class only to be punished for what I did not do or understand but fortunately, it was not just me, it was the whole school, SS3 seniors borders were punishing every border student in the school both boys and girls from SS2 – Js 1. You would ask what did we do?
To the event that welcomed me to rest of my life in school, I got back from class only to be punished for what I did not do or understand but fortunately, it was not just me, it was the whole school – SS3 senior borders were punishing every border student in the school both boys and girls from SS2 – Js 1 in our various hostels. You would ask what did we do?
#rme What had happened was a Day student girl in SS2 was RUDE to an SS3 Border girl and because of this little offence the whole school was punished – the punishment and beating were based on your class, I do not want to go into the details of what happened to SS2 Borders in the whole school or what happened to the Boys and Girls in the class of this Rude Day student girl. I was simply glad that I was not in SS2 at that time.
Tiny little me was really pained as to why I had to get punished for something I did not do or for an offense that I didn’t even know the offender in person. Our part of the punishment as Js 1 student was to Kneel for hours under the sun after which we were beaten but not so much. So imagine if we at Js 1 could get that punishment what will happen to other classes.
You would ask that why punish border students? Well in my school Borders sort of ruled the classes, so yeah imagine what will happen when you go to class the next day….
First Life Lesson: Someone messes with you, but you can make life hard for the person by messing with the people the person deals with daily and letting them understand that your offender is the cause of their problem.
You need to understand that some of us growing up were just plain EVIL but I guess I was supposed to learn from that experience.
This was my welcome to the rest of your life moment in secondary school.
