When I first started seeing pictures from the Met Gala, i assumed it was just another award event but over the years the way the people in the event dress ehen e get has the thing be and this year was not different, i think this year had more crazies. So I decided to read about what the Met Gala is really about.
Wikipedia said: The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Each year’s event celebrates the theme of that year’s Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the
Furthermore, there is a theme for each year’s Gala and the guests/celebrities are expected to dress to match the theme of each. This year the event was chaired by Pharrell Williams and Katy Perry (that explains Katy perry’s outfit), which is an honourary position.

This year’s theme was Art of the In-Between from a designer called Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons:
She simply makes avant-garde designs and questions the reason to make sense. With that been said understand that you are supposed to dress in line with the theme.
So I will only pick outfits that stood out for me in line with the theme.
Rihanna – Oh well.. 100 percent, she simply knows how to make everything work for her body.
Solange captures the very meaning of Avant-garde, you need to see the beauty from another angle, put on glasses if you need to but this the true definition of Fashion. Just exhilarating. Trust me I really had to open my eyes to see it clearly.
Helen Lasichanh (Pharell’s Wife) – My colleague said she was there to take off but I say No, this was good, I just did not understand why the outfit did not have a headgear asides that this was true Avant Garde.
Katy Perry – Given that she is one of the chairpersons of the occasion, this statement was important. I can’t.
There were much more Avante – Garde looks on the carpet but these above represented.
